Whistleblower and anti-retaliation laws exist to encourage individuals to bring complaints of wrongdoing to the appropriate authority. These laws provide protections for those who report unethical or unlawful conduct. Because these protections often apply to the disclosure of fraudulent conduct or in other cases, government corruption, you must familiarize yourself with the types of disclosures that are protected activities. Your organization could be at greater risk by not following best practices.

This webinar will examine what it means when someone blows the whistle versus the designation of whistleblower; laws and legislation; an international look into the conflict of whistleblower and witness protection; the purpose of a whistleblower program; designing an effective whistleblower program; and the key concepts in developing a whistleblower law.

You Will Learn How To:

  • Assess and compare current U.S. and international whistleblower legislation.
  • Determine the purpose, design and management of an effective whistleblower program.
  • Describe what constitutes a whistleblower versus someone requiring witness protection.
  • Manage whistleblower protection and confidentiality, and avoid the common pitfalls.
Who Should Attend:
  • Certified Fraud Examiners and other anti-fraud professionals
  • Law enforcement officers and prosecutors
  • Detectives and private investigators
  • Internal and external auditors, CPAs, CAs and forensic accountants
  • Attorneys, legal professionals and law enforcement personnel
