More than 300 anti-fraud
professionals will gather at Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai on 14-15 February 2016
to discuss emerging issues in fraud prevention and listen to leaders in the
anti-fraud field.
Hosted by the Financial
Audit Department under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Chairman of FAD, the
2016 ACFE Middle East Fraud Conference
will provide delegates the opportunity to choose from four tracks of concurrent
sessions and hone their skills at preventing and detecting fraud. As the first-ever
ACFE conference held in the Middle East, this informative event will be a
landmark for global fraud prevention.
His Excellency Abdulla
Mohammed Al Huraiz, Acting Director General, Financial Audit Department,
Government of Dubai said, “Anti-fraud collaboration is a mutual responsibility
between FAD and the auditees; thereupon, FAD was keen to host the
2016 ACFE Middle East Fraud Conference
in Dubai to encourage all auditees to share the responsibility of anti-fraud
and to be equipped with international skills.”
Keynote speakers will
include Hamed Kazim, CEO of HK Consulting and Senior Advisor to the Government of Dubai[MAM1] ; Jeffrey
Robinson, bestselling author of 27 books and international expert on organised
crime and fraud; and Professor Dr. Marco Gercke, the Director of the Cybercrime
Research Institute.
Concurrent sessions will
discuss trends in cybersecurity, how to use analytics to conduct effective
investigations and how to adapt fraud prevention and detection techniques for a
global audience.

The Financial Audit Department (FAD) is the
supreme audit institution of Dubai and was established by the law No (1) of
1995 issued by His Highness the Ruler of Dubai on 29 January 1995. His Highness
Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai,
is the Chairman of FAD. The audit jurisdiction of FAD covers all
government departments, public corporations, companies in which Dubai
government shareholding is above 25 percent, organisations for which the government
provides a financial subsidy, and/or any other body where an audit is
