2023 ACFE Women’s Summit Heads to Washington, D.C. on International Women’s Day

Feb 28, 2023

Rachel Wilson, Director of Cybersecurity at Morgan Stanley, and Kelly Donovan, Whistleblower and Advocate, will serve as keynote speakers for the third annual event.

On March 8, 2023, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) will host the ACFE Women’s Summit in Washington, D.C. and online. This event brings together fraud fighters from different fields — including auditing, risk and compliance, accounting and more — for a full day of learning and networking. Professionals of all genders and professional backgrounds are invited to attend.

Rachel Wilson, Morgan Stanley’s Director of Cybersecurity, and Kelly Donovan, a police whistleblower, speaker and advocate, will deliver the event's keynote sessions. This 1-day summit also features an all-women’s roster of professionals at the top of their fields taking part in panel discussions on: Gender Considerations in Investigative Interviews; Fraud Trends to Watch; and The Role of Curiosity in Countering Bias.

“At the ACFE, we are proud to honor the efforts and achievements of women in the anti-fraud profession all year round, and we are especially thrilled to come together to celebrate this group on International Women’s Day,” says Andi McNeal, CFE, CPA, the ACFE’s Vice President of Education. “This year’s Women’s Summit will provide opportunities to hear from exciting speakers, learn about relevant topics, expand our networks and support each other in our professional and personal goals. We hope all who attend, whether virtually or in-person, will come away feeling inspired, connected and empowered to contribute to the fight against fraud in new ways.”

Rachel Wilson became Morgan Stanley’s very first head of cybersecurity in 2017 following a 15-year career at the National Security Agency (NSA). For five of those 15 years, Wilson led the NSA’s cyber exploitation operations as the deputy and then chief of the Remote Operations Center within the NSA’s Tailored Access Operations.

As a police officer in Canada, Kelly Donovan witnessed what she believed to be selective enforcement and favoritism when police officers were accused of a crime. This experience inspired Donovan to leave policing and dedicate herself to advocating for ethical police leadership and whistleblower protection.

International Women’s Day, which has roots as far back as the early 20th century, is now a globally recognized holiday that celebrates women and their accomplishments. This is the third year for the ACFE Women’s Summit and the second year this event falls on International Women’s Day.

The 2023 ACFE Women’s Summit will be held at Convene Washington D.C., just a block away from the White House and the U.S. Treasury Department.
