ACFE Fraud Conference Features TARP Watchdog, Madoff Trustee

 

Professionals Gather in Washington, D.C. for Largest Anti-Fraud Event in the World

WASHINGTON, DC - The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) will host its 21st Annual Fraud Conference & Exhibition, July 25-30, 2010 at Gaylord National Hotel in Washington, D.C., headlined by keynote speakers including Special Inspector General Neil M. Barofsky, overseer of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), and court-appointed Madoff trustee Irving Picard.

The yearly event marks the largest gathering of anti-fraud professionals in the world. Other keynote speakers include James T. Reese, PhD, renowned speaker and former FBI "mind hunter," and Justin Paperny, a convicted fraudster who served an 18-month sentence for conspiracy to commit securities fraud.

The ACFE Fraud Conference also features a schedule packed with cutting-edge training seminars including a Harry Markopolos' "Chasing Bernie Madoff: A CFE's Perspective," as well as sessions addressing the role of the U.S. federal government in combating fraud, preventing fraud in international business transactions, lessons learned from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) and many others.

The Fraud Conference offers more than 80 educational sessions for anti-fraud professionals, and a traveling Fraud Museum exhibit, "The International Face of Fraud," will provide the unique opportunity to travel through fraud's global history with selected pieces from the most extensive and eclectic collection of historical fraud pieces in the world.
