Prerequisites
Experience working with fraud risk management programs and a basic level of exposure to the included Fraud Risk Management Guide, Second Edition (FRMG).
You Will Learn How To:
Identify the five principles of fraud risk management in the FRMG.
Compare the principles of fraud risk management with the COSO 2013 Internal Control Framework and the COSO 2017 Enterprise Risk Management—Integrating with Strategy and Performance Framework, and identify the key relationships between these frameworks.
Select appropriate fraud control activities that respond to identified risks, including fraud reporting systems or hotlines.
Apply data analytics approaches as part of comprehensive fraud risk management.
Distinguish various fraud risk exposures and potential schemes.
Identify points of focus that characterize each of the principles of fraud risk management.
Recognize how a comprehensive approach to fraud risk management supports fraud deterrence.
Select appropriate points of focus to assist management in designing, implementing and conducting fraud risk management activities and assessing whether the relevant principles are, in fact, present and functioning.

Is the COSO Fraud Risk Management Certificate Program a replacement for becoming a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)?
No.
The COSO Fraud Risk Management Certificate Program is designed to provide you with an understanding of the five principles of fraud risk management, how they align with the COSO Internal Control and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and give you the ability to market this skill to current or prospective employers.
The Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential is designed to recognize trained professionals who possess a unique set of diverse skills in preventing, detecting and investigating fraud. To earn the CFE credential, you must meet eligibility requirements and complete the significant undertaking of passing the rigorous CFE Exam. Completing an ACFE certificate program does not count toward meeting the eligibility requirements to become a CFE.

How can I promote that I’ve earned the certificate after completing the program?
Upon completing the program, you will receive a certificate of completion that you can download and share. Within 5-7 business days you will also receive a digital badge that you can add to your LinkedIn profile. Learn more about the digital badge.

Will I earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits for completing the COSO Fraud Risk Management Certificate Program?
Yes. To earn this certificate, you will need to pass the exam after each lesson with a score of 70% or higher within three attempts. Passing all seven exams will provide you with 8 NASBA-approved CPE credits. CPE credits will be provided immediately after passing an individual exam.

How long will I have to complete the certificate program?
You will have one year from your purchase date to complete the certificate program. After one year from your purchase date, you will no longer be able to access the certificate program or the lessons contained within the certificate program.

Does the certificate expire?
The certificate does not expire. Once you've earned it, you have it for life.

What do I need to do to maintain the certificate?
Unlike the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential which does have requirements to be maintained, the COSO Fraud Risk Management Certificate does not require maintenance.
