How Anomaly Detection May Have Prevented the British Post Office Scandal

Description

The British Post Office scandal has been described as the most widespread miscarriage of justice in U.K. legal history. Between 1999 and 2015, more than 3,500 sub-postmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft, false accounting and fraud, due to shortfalls at their branches. However, these shortfalls were in fact due to errors in the post office’s new Horizon accounting software.

In this webinar, you will learn from Joe Welch, global implementation lead at MindBridge, a son of one of the wrongly accused sub-postmasters, about the importance of detective controls and anomaly detection in complex systems, including how this misjustice could have been prevented.
