Conversation with a Fraudster: Steven Russell

Description

Steven Russell was convicted of fraud twice and sentenced to jail in 1996. Incredibly, he spent the next 27 years in solitary confinement in a Texas maximum security facility — the same one that houses inmates on death row — before his release in 2024.

The reason for Russell’s seemingly harsh sentence? He escaped from prison five times. His story became the subject of the motion picture, "I Love You Phillip Morris," starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor.

In this webinar, ACFE President John Gill, J.D., CFE, will interview Russell about his frauds, his escapes and the lessons learned from nearly three decades in prison.
