Description

Developments in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have prompted professionals across all industries to ask how they can potentially implement the technology and whether they should. In this course, the instructor will discuss the current wave of AI from a digital forensic investigator’s perspective, including what AI is and isn’t, how it works and how to responsibly use free AI tools in your own fraud examinations. The presenter will address common misconceptions about the technology that can cause problems for fraud examiners and their organizations, as well as provide examples of the impact that AI tools can have on a fraud examination when appropriately utilized.

Course Outline

Day 1

  • 12:30 – 1:40 p.m. Artificial Intelligence: Past, Present and Future

    In this session, the instructor will compare representations of AI in history and pop culture, and compare those representations to the technology’s current status and projected path of development. You will learn about the different types of AI, how they learn and how they function.

  • 3:20 – 4:30 p.m. Ethics and Legal Considerations for AI

    Implementation of AI comes with a variety of considerations, including ethical and legal implications. In this session you will examine real world issues related to using AI, the current legal environment and court decisions, and what the legislative or regulatory future for the technology could entail.

Event Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is intended to keep costs low for attendees. Due to financial obligations incurred by ACFE, Inc., you must cancel your registration prior to the start of the event. Cancellations received less than 14 calendar days prior to an event start date are subject to a $100 administrative fee. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received on or after the start date of the event. Those who do not cancel and do not attend are responsible for the full registration fee. Should an event be cancelled or postponed by the ACFE due to unforeseen circumstances, the ACFE will process a full refund of registration fees within 30 days of such circumstances becoming known. The ACFE will attempt to notify affected customers by phone and email after it determines cancellation is necessary.
