Implicit Bias in Anti-Fraud Engagements Virtual Workshop

CPE Credit: 8
Online Virtual Workshop | September 16-17, 2020
Course Level: Overview
Prerequisite: None

Are you able to maintain an objective point of view when engaging stakeholders and conducting fraud investigations, audits and other anti-fraud engagements? If you answered yes, you have just made yourself even more susceptible to your own implicit biases — those subconscious views you hold about the world and everything in it.

In this virtual workshop, you will learn how implicit biases can have positive and negative effects on your behavior, your decision-making, your interpersonal communication skills and your anti-fraud work.

You will also explore methods to help identify and recognize implicit biases while creating practices, policies and procedures to mitigate the associated negative effects.

In this live, interactive workshop you will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor and attendees throughout the workshop. We encourage you to use your webcam, and interact using the audio on your computer but it is not required. Please be prepared to interact with fellow attendees, as well as the instructor.

You Will Learn How to:

  • Identify and explore the factors that contribute to implicit bias
  • Assess the effect of implicit bias on anti-fraud engagements
  • Develop and apply methods to identify and counteract the negative effects of implicit bias
