ACFE Board of Regents Nominations
One of the highest honors for a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is to be elected to serve on the Board of Regents. The ACFE is no longer accepting nominations for two new positions on the 2013-2014 Board of Regents as the nomination period has now closed. Candidate ballots will be available November 1, 2012.
The Board of Regents performs several integral functions. Under the current bylaws, the Board of Regents has sole authority over the admission of members, including but not limited to examination standards. The Board is also responsible for establishing, modifying and enforcing the CFE Code of Professional Ethics and all other matters necessary to maintain the high standards of the ACFE. Any CFE in good standing may apply for a position on the Board of Regents. New Regents are elected each year by the Certified members of the ACFE. The Regents represent a cross-section of CFEs with experience in diverse types of fraud examination. Each member of the Board of Regents is required to attend two meetings per year during their tenure. The first meeting is held at the ACFE headquarters in Austin, Texas, usually in February or March. At this meeting, the new Board members are sworn in. The second meeting is scheduled during the ACFE Annual Fraud Conference. Your travel and incidental expenses for attendance at each Board meeting will be reimbursed by the ACFE.
