Board of Regents' Disciplinary Actions

On September 30, 2016, Terry Gilbeau, CFE, of Rocklin, California, offered to resign his membership from ACFE in lieu of a disciplinary action, and the ACFE Board of Regents accepted his resignation. The ACFE alleged that in 2007 Mr. Gilbeau violated Section IV. A. 1. of the ACFE Code of Professional Standards and Article VIII of the ACFE Code of Professional Ethics. Mr. Gilbeau's resignation was tendered without any admission of wrongful conduct on his part.

On October 18, 2016, Nicole Bocra, CFE, of Arlington, Virginia, offered to resign her membership from ACFE in lieu of a disciplinary action, and the ACFE Board of Regents accepted her resignation. The ACFE alleged that in 2007 Ms. Bocra violated Section IV. A. 1. of the ACFE Code of Professional Standards and Article VIII of the ACFE Code of Professional Ethics. Ms. Bocra's resignation was tendered without any admission of wrongful conduct on her part.

The Board of Regents issued a private reprimand against a CFE for claiming Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for an online self-study course that the member completed with a group, when the ACFE's CPE rules only permit the course to be completed — and CPE claimed — by a single person. The board also required the member to complete two ethics CPE hours in addition to the standard requirement.
