At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last June, the ACFE pivoted the ACFE Global Fraud Conference to a virtual format to keep attendees, speakers and sponsors safe. The ACFE stood firm in its commitment to provide quality education and resources for anti-fraud professionals, and it delivered. More than 4,000 fraud fighters gathered virtually in a breakthrough format to share knowledge, network with like-minded professionals and learn from the industry’s top leaders.
This year, the 32nd Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference will again be presented virtually June 21-23. The ACFE expands on the success of last year’s virtual conference to offer anti-fraud professionals opportunities to fine-tune their fraud-fighting skills and network with peers without the hassles of travel.
The can’t-miss keynote speaker agenda offers a diverse group of professionals who’ve broken through barriers to tackle fraud and misconduct.
Preet Bharara served as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2009 to 2017. During that time, he supervised more than 200 assistant U.S. attorneys who handled a high volume of cases involving terrorism, narcotics and arms tracking, financial and health care fraud, cybercrime, public corruption, gang violence, organized crime and civil rights violations.
His office’s case against SAC Capital resulted in the largest-ever fine paid in the history of insider-trading prosecutions and reportedly served as an inspiration for the television series, “Billions."
Dan McCrum is a multi-award-winning investigative journalist whose work for the Financial Times has helped expose accounting problems and fraud at several listed companies, including the most recent misconduct at Wirecard.
His reporting on Wirecard has been recognized with the Impact Award for distinguished financial journalism from the New York Financial Writers’ Association, the Ludwig Erhard Prize for economic journalism and an honorary Helmut Schmidt Journalism Prize.
Professor Thulisile “Thuli” Madonsela, a former public protector of South Africa, is an advocate of that country’s High Court, the law trust chair in social justice and a law professor at the University of Stellenbosch, where she conducts and coordinates social justice research, and teaches constitutional and administrative law.
She’s credited with transforming the High Court by enhancing its effectiveness in promoting good governance and integrity — including ethical governance and anti-corruption in state affairs. Madonsela is one of the drafters of the South Africa Constitution and co-architect of several laws that have sought to anchor South Africa’s democracy.
This live Virtual Conference, which will broadcast educational sessions during the event, will allow online participants to earn CPE credit. The Virtual Conference also will offer an on-demand video recording option that will allow users to access archives of all educational sessions on their schedules.
Between educational sessions, you can explore solutions and services to support your fight against fraud. Virtual conference attendees will be able to interact with exhibitors through an online platform.
The 32nd Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference is a can’t-miss opportunity for anti-fraud professionals. Even though the event is held online, space is limited. Register early to secure your spot. For more information and registration, visit FraudConference.com.
