  • Corruption Cases by Region

The map below illustrates the breakdown of corruption cases by region, along with the respective median losses of those cases. The Middle East and North Africa had the largest percentage of reported corruption cases in our study, followed by Sub-Saharan Africa. This analysis only represents the cases reported to us by the CFEs who investigated those cases and therefore it does not necessarily reflect overall levels of corruption in each region. But it is worth noting that Transparency International's 2013 Corruption Perceptions Index found these two regions to have among the highest perceived levels of corruption in the world.
