    You can access our website home page and browse our site without disclosing your personal data.

    Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

    We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only collect/have access to such information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, with the following exceptions:

    • We will provide information as necessary to fulfill your request (e.g. to ship an order)
    • We will confirm your membership status with our organization (i.e., whether you are a member or a Certified Fraud Examiner in good standing, and your dates of membership) upon request.
    • Exhibitors at ACFE conferences may be permitted up to two physical mailings to registered conference attendees. In such cases we will only provide your mailing address as listed in the ACFE database – we will not distribute your phone number or email address.
    • We provide our local chapter leaders with the ability to access the membership status and contact information of ACFE members in their geographical area so that they can inform you of networking opportunities, Continuing Professional Education offerings, and similar information. They are not allowed to share your information with third parties.
    • We share membership information with our regional customer service affiliates in certain countries in order to provide member services such as answering customer inquiries, processing event registration or product orders, etc. They are not allowed to share your information with third parties, except as provided in this policy.

    Otherwise, we will not release your contact information, except with your permission or subject to a valid legal directive. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

    Online Tracking

    We automatically log data and use cookies to store data. We do so for the purpose of marketing and technical administration of the website, and we track activity to/from other websites. You may set the privacy settings on your browser to reject cookies and sessions with us. Our website does not support Do Not Track signals.

    Your California Privacy Rights

    The California "Shine the Light" law permits California residents who visit our website to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, details regarding their personal information (if any) that we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes within the previous calendar year. If applicable, our response to this request will include a list of categories of personal information that we shared and the names and addresses of the third parties.

You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

    While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information off-line. All ACFE employees who have access to your personally identifiable information are subject to criminal and credit background checks and receive training on how to protect such information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
