Structuring Fraud Investigation for the End Game: Civil, Criminal and Insurance

Description

Effective fraud investigations are built with the end in mind. Whether a case is headed toward civil litigation, criminal prosecution or an insurance claim, your investigative approach must be structured to meet the evidentiary, procedural and strategic needs unique to each pathway. You must develop a clear plan, maintain proper documentation and chain of custody, and evaluate potential legal avenues as evidence unfolds. In addition, the investigation team must understand court procedures and the options available for insurance recovery, including potential challenges.

This webinar outlines a practical framework for designing and conducting investigations that are fact-driven, defensible and aligned with your or your client’s ultimate objective. Through real-world examples, you will gain an understanding of how early decisions, such as interview sequencing, data selection and preservation, expert involvement, and reporting strategy, significantly influence the outcome of your investigation.

Prerequisites

Participants should have prior experience conducting fraud examinations and investigations and be experienced with the steps from inception to completion.

You Will Learn How To:

List the necessary components of an investigative plan.

Recognize the impact of early decisions on the overall outcome of a fraud investigation.
