Deepfakes and Synthetic Reality: Blurring the Lines

Description

Deepfakes and synthetic media are no longer future threats. They are already reshaping how information is created, shared and manipulated. From fabricated videos and cloned voices to AI‑generated imagery, these technologies are blurring the line between reality and deception, creating new risks for organizations, investigators and society at large.

This webinar will explore the rise of deepfakes and synthetic reality, highlighting their potential for both innovation and misuse. You will delve into the underlying technology, including AI and machine learning, that enables the creation of hyper-realistic media. This webinar will address the societal and ethical implications of deepfakes, such as misinformation, privacy violations and threats to democracy. Finally, you will examine current and emerging defense strategies, including deepfake detection tools, legal frameworks and public awareness campaigns.
