Synthetic Transactions & Machine-Generated Fraud

Description

The emerging phenomenon of machine-generated fraud originates not from human deception but from autonomous systems capable of fabricating financial transactions, generating synthetic documentation and simulating compliant processes. Unlike traditional fraud schemes, these synthetic patterns often pass undetected through automated validation systems, challenging existing control frameworks and investigative models.

In this webinar, you will explore how generative AI tools are being used to create false payroll entries, procurement loops and shell entities that appear structurally sound and internally consistent — yet are designed for abuse.

You will focus on forensic indicators of non-human fabrication, risk exposure in data-driven environments and audit limitations of rule-based anomaly detection when faced with fabricated realism.

By attending, you will learn how to recalibrate your fraud detection assumptions, critically evaluate AI-augmented transaction flows and design controls that remain effective against increasingly autonomous fraud strategies.

Prerequisites

Participants should have prior knowledge and experience with fraud monitoring or compliance programs. Participants should be familiar with forensic indicators of human fraud.

You Will Learn How To:

Identify key features of synthetic transactions and machine-generated financial fraud.

Detect AI-generated documentation and fabricated audit trails in public finance systems.

Evaluate the limitations of traditional red-flag indicators in automated environments.

Analyze fraud risks emerging from autonomous procurement and payroll processes.

Reassess internal control models to address non-human deception and generative logic.
