During its June 2025 meeting, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Board of Regents voted to revoke the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credentials of three members and expel them from the ACFE.

The ACFE Board of Regents voted to revoke Adbul Malik’s CFE credential and permanently expel him from the ACFE. Malik, of Abu Dhabi, UAE, sold the ACFE’s copyrighted materials without permission on a third-party website and misused the CFE Seal to promote the product. The Board found that Malik violated Article II of the ACFE Code of Professional Ethics and Section 5.07 of the ACFE Bylaws.

The Board also voted to revoke the CFE credential of William Oberschelp of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and to permanently expel him from the ACFE. In 2025, Oberschelp entered guilty pleas to charges of attempted homicide, robbery and criminal trespass. The Board found that Oberschelp was convicted of multiple felonies in violation of Article II of the ACFE Code of Professional Ethics and Section 5.07 of the ACFE Bylaws.

Amir Samadoff of Aliso Viejo, California, had his CFE credential revoked by the Board and was permanently expelled from the ACFE. Samadoff submitted false professional recommendations to the ACFE with his application to take the CFE Exam. The Board found that Samadoff violated Article II of the ACFE Code of Professional Ethics and Section 5.07 of the ACFE Bylaws.
