The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship program, a function of the ACFE Foundation, is accepting applications for the 2021-2022 academic year. Candidates must be enrolled in accounting, business administration, finance, criminal justice or similar anti-fraud
programs.
The ACFE Foundation, a nonprofit entity, raises funds to support the scholarship program to further the education of students worldwide who have a desire to pursue a career in fraud examination or similar anti-fraud profession.
ACFE chapters and ACFE members help underwrite the scholarships with donations. Also, royalties from books written by ACFE founder and Chairman Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA, help fund the scholarships.
Since the ACFE established the scholarship program in 1992, the Foundation has awarded more than 600 academic scholarships to exemplary students.
Applicants must meet these requirements to be eligible:
- Must be enrolled at an accredited, four-year college or university with enrollment through the 2021-2022 academic year.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in nine semester hours (or equivalent) per term and be at least in the second half of their sophomore year when they apply.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in six semester hours (or equivalent) per term.
- Provide official transcript(s) showing all completed college or university courses.
- Submit two recommendation forms.*
*The ACFE Foundation prefers at least one recommendation be from a Certified Fraud Examiner. Each recommendation must be from a professional who’s familiar with a candidate’s fraud-related education, career goals and desired anti-fraud career path.
This scholarship program honors the memory of CFE colleagues, Tracy Ritchie and Larry Jennings, who were killed by terrorists during a business trip in Karachi, Pakistan, on Nov. 14, 1997. Through the program, they’re memorialized for future generations
of fraud fighters.
