Nashawna Harris, Corey Polk

On Sept. 10, 2014, the ACFE Board of Regents voted to permanently expel Nashawna Harris. This decision was predicated on her guilty plea to six counts of Making False Statements, in violation of Section 16-10-20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A). According to the Bill of Indictment, Harris made false statements to the Georgia Department of Human Services when she submitted employee travel expense statements for travel and mileage expenses that she didn’t incur.

On Sept. 10, 2014, the ACFE Board of Regents voted to permanently expel Corey Polk, a former employee of the Bureau of Auditing and Compliance Services for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). This decision was predicated on his guilty plea to theft from a federally funded entity, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 666(a)(1)(A) and forfeiture. Polk admitted to submitting fraudulent reimbursement receipts to receive money for official state travel that didn’t occur.
