2008-2009 ACFE Call for Speakers and Proposals

General Information:
In our continuing effort to provide the best training and events possible to our members and event attendees, the ACFE invites experienced anti-fraud professionals to provide speaking proposals for future ACFE conferences.

In an effort to facilitate this process we are again soliciting proposals from our membership and fellow professionals through an online form. Please read this page carefully as it contains all of the information you will need to make an informed decision as to whether you want to proceed and submit a topic for consideration. Note that for full consideration submissions must also include your curriculum vitae (CV) and professional references; please combine these into a single document for uploading.

Our online proposal submission form divides the process into several steps so you can enter information and confirm it is correct before moving to the next step.

There are three steps to submit a Presentation:

  • Provide Information about your proposal, including, title, abstract, and contact information.
  • Confirm that your contact information is correct, check the proposal for spelling and clarity.
  • Submit your information to ACFE for consideration.

Once all the submissions have been received for an event your proposal will be reviewed by the ACFE. The selection process follows a rigorous review and evaluation of every proposal submitted. Many more proposals are submitted than can be selected, and it is important that you include all required and relevant information to be properly and fairly considered. If selected you will be contacted directly by the ACFE.

Events and Date:
The following are the dates, locations and proposal closing date for our upcoming 2008 events. It is important to note that proposals submitted for one event can also be considered for another conference or webinar at the discretion of the ACFE and approval of the speaker.

ACFE Pacific Rim Fraud Conference: November, 2008
Melbourne, Australia
Submissions Close: July 31, 2008

ACFE European Fraud Conference: April, 2009

15th Annual ACFE Canadian Fraud Conference: May, 2009

Each conference session is eighty minutes (80) in length; webinars are one-hundred minutes (100) in length.

(If you want to submit a proposal for developing a longer one or two day seminar please contact Allan Bachman, ACFE Education Manager, directly.)

Shortly after you have submitted a proposal you will receive an e-mail notification confirming receipt by the ACFE, which will include a copy for your records and reference.

If selected for one of our events you will be contacted by the ACFE at least 120 days prior to the event.. Please do not e-mail or call to verify we have received your proposal or check on its status; you will be notified in due course. If you feel you must contact the ACFE (i.e. to report a change in contact information) use e-mail only and send your message to: speakerproposal@acfe.com.

Selection Criteria:

For full consideration the proposed session must clearly apply to the identified target audience, and be delivered by a speaker with substantial topic knowledge (Subject Matter Expert) and experience facilitating learning experiences and/or speaking to large groups.

Proposals are evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Content that is current and practical, cutting edge or innovative as it relates to the anti-fraud profession.
  • Programs and best-practices that demonstrate measurable impact and results in the fight against fraud.
  • Global issues addressing interests of the international community and multi-national organizations.
  • Clear, specific, and informative content which is directly linked to the learning objectives.
  • Application-focused learning objectives which can realistically be met in the time allotted.
  • Completeness, accuracy, and clarity of the proposal.

Proposals that do not follow the guidelines may be ineligible for further consideration.

Final note, due to the short sessions and the economics of travel, coordination, etc. the ACFE rarely entertains proposals for panels or more than one speaker.

Good luck! And let us know if there is anything we can do to make this process easier: email: speakerproposal@acfe.com.

Speaker Guidelines and Agreement:

The ACFE requires all speakers who have had their proposals accepted for presentation at one of our events to review, sign and return a Speaker Guidelines document. A sample from the 2007 Annual Conference is available for review at the following link: DOWNLOADABLE PDF OF 2008-2009 ANNUAL SPEAKER GUIDELINES

Please take some time to review these guidelines. Final versions for our events include contact information, instructions, background information, deadlines, audio visual guidelines, presentation tips and guidelines, travel requirements and reimbursement, the speaker agreement and online presentation agreement forms.

Once you have reviewed these guidelines, you may click here to proceed to the ACFE speaker submission form.
