June 13, 2011 - SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- More than 2,300 professional fraud sleuths descended upon the San Diego Convention Center Sunday for the week-long 22nd Annual ACFE Fraud Conference & Exhibition. The world's largest gathering of anti-fraud professionals kicked off with a welcome reception Sunday night and opening ceremonies Monday morning.

John Walsh, host of "America's Most Wanted," and Assistant U.S. Attorney General Lanny Breuer head the list of keynote speakers and presenters who will share their crime-fighting insight and expertise at the event. Walsh will present the keynote address during the lunch session on Monday, and Breuer will address the crowd on Tuesday morning.

Other leading speakers include Dr. Howard M. Schilit, an international leader in forensic accounting and corporate governance and a renowned author, and Joan Pastor, PhD, president of JPA International Inc.

On Wednesday, convicted fraudster Diann Cattani will address the packed banquet hall of "corporate cops" to tell her personal story about making bad ethical decisions, and the price she had to pay after getting caught.

The conference will also provide more than 80 educational sessions focused on the latest techniques and best practices in fraud detection, prevention and deterrence. Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), investigators, auditors, attorneys, law enforcement officers, and other security, risk and compliance professionals are among those in attendance to share knowledge and increase their fraud-fighting skills.

Features in the Exhibit Hall include the ACFE Career Connection, with special career-building presentations and opportunities to meet with career coaches. The latest in fraud prevention solutions are also on hand, as well as a traveling exhibit of the ACFE Fraud Museum. This year's theme is "Fraud Off the Press: White Collar Crime in the Public Eye."
