Description:
Former federal agent Robert Mazur offers a through-the-looking-glass perspective about the world of money laundering. For five years of his 27-year career, he lived a double life as an undercover money launderer, brokering deals between Colombian drug cartels and the dirty banks that legitimized their fortunes. Unlike many others, he learned the real secrets of the trade while risking his life working shoulder to shoulder with some of the world's most sophisticated launderers and drug barons. In return, when they learned his true identity, they offered a half-million dollar bounty on his head.
Mr. Mazur was the lead undercover agent responsible for infiltrating the Bank of Credit & Commerce International (BCCI), and it was his fake wedding that drew BCCI bankers from around the globe to their arrests, an event that led to the conviction and dismantling of the seventh largest privately held bank in the world. During his presentation, Mr. Mazur explains why the imagination and creativity of drug lords and their bankers outpace government strategies.
