New Board Members Welcomed at ACFE UK Chapter Meeting

The ACFE UK Chapter had its planning away on the 27th of February at Latimer House in Buckinghamshire. The meeting was chaired by the current President and Head of Board of Regents Jim Oakes, CFE.

Jim welcomed the new members to the board.  They are Gary Miller, Steve Hyndman, Roy Burnett, CFE, George Weir and Gus MacKenzie, CFE. The purpose of this meeting is to review the events of the past year and plan for the following. The full minutes of the meeting will be posted on

The following events have been planned and some speaker opportunities still exist. Anyone wanting to present at these events should email Fred Parr with a synopsis of their presentation and learning points:

April 2014 (date to beconfirmed) – "Emerging Trends." Glasgow (venue to be confirmed)

11th June 2014 – Half-day training on deceptive behaviour. Central London (venue to be confirmed)


23rd - 24th June 2014 – "Digital Forensic/Security and Cybercrime Conference." Strathclyde University, Glasgow.  Read more

4th December 2014 – "Find the Fraudster" (evening networking event). Central London (venue to be confirmed)


28th January 2015 – Full-day "Basics and Beyond." Central London (venue to be confirmed)


The UK Chapter website has been revised and updated, and it currently gets around 1,000 unique hits per month. Jim Oakes is asking all members to contribute interesting articles to create an information centre on frauds and how to deal with and prevent them. Steve Hyndman will administer new Facebook and LinkedIn social media links.
