The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, in compliance with its bylaws, requires all Certified Fraud Examiners to maintain competence through Continuing Professional Education (CPE).

CPE Requirements

The minimum CPE hours required to stay current as a Certified Fraud Examiner is 20 hours per twelve month period of which at least 10 hours must relate directly to the detection and deterrence of fraud. Up to 10 CPE hours may be carried forward to meet the requirements of the following year. CFEs are required to certify CPE compliance either (1) online or (2) by calling Member Services (800) 245-3321 (USA & Canada only) or +1 (512) 478-9000 by the end of their anniversary month. A members anniversary month is the month membership is renewed each year.
