Mr. Manning is a Director with AlixPartners, LLP, a global performance improvement, corporate turnaround and financial advisory services firm. He is part of AlixPartners’ Litigation Technology practice, which focuses on the forensic collection and analyses of digital evidence and electronic discovery. Mr. Manning has 20 years of experience in the field of computer forensics, which allows him to assist clients in the areas of data acquisition, collection, chain of custody, data analytics and expert testimony in computer forensics and collections.
Before joining AlixPartners, Mr. Manning served as the Director of The Techno-Crime Institute, a consulting and research organization that provided training in the field of computer and telecommunications crimes, Internet fraud, investigations and security.
Mr. Manning retired with the rank of lieutenant after a 20-year career with the Dallas Police Department. He holds a B.A. degree from the University of Dallas, and has received the Master Police Officer Certification from the Texas Commission for Law Enforcement Standards and Education.
Mr. Manning also assisted the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in the conceptual design of a course of instruction for federal agents that addresses the investigation of telecommunications crimes. He has also coordinated and taught over one hundred seminars in this field for many business organizations.
Mr. Manning is a contributing author to the Fraud Examiners Manual, Third Edition, which is the official training manual of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has also been published in Fraud Magazine, which is a monthly publication of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and in the publication Police Computer Review. Mr. Manning has had articles appear in Police Chief magazine, which is the monthly publication of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). He has also been published in Information Systems Security, which is a prestigious journal in the computer security field.
