Kathie Green Lawrence is stockholder and Director of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, professional organization headquartered in Austin, Texas with nearly 50,000-members.

Ms. Lawrence was born and grew up in DeSoto, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.

In 1974, Ms. Lawrence was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as an administrative assistant in its Dallas Headquarters. After three years in Dallas, she transferred to the Austin Resident Agency of the FBI.

In 1984, Ms Lawrence left the FBI to join Wells & Associates, a consulting group of criminologists dealing with fraud detection and deterrence. The group was based in Austin, Texas, but supported clients nationwide. Ms. Lawrence was in charge of all administrative operations and support.

In 1988, she became the Vice President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners at the Association’s inception, and served on its initial Board of Regents. In 1994, she was awarded one of the first Distinguished Achievement Awards from the Association. In addition, she is the publisher of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ publication, “Fraud Magazine.” During her time with the Association, it has expanded to its present membership worldwide.

Ms. Lawrence continued her education during her tenure at Wells & Associates and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners at the University of Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.

As Vice President of, and director of Human Resources for the Association, Ms. Lawrence is now responsible on a day-to-day basis for management and administration of operations and the employment services for the Association’s 60+ employees. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and a member of the American Society of Association Executive. Her functions are based at the Association’s headquarters in Austin, Texas, but Ms. Lawrence has participated in the organization and presentation of the Association’s seminars, annual conferences and other member services events and operations throughout the United States and internationally.

Ms. Lawrence is married to Michael Lawrence, an attorney in Austin. Her family includes two grown daughters, Jennifer and Samantha, a son, Wesley, a son-in-law, Ryan, and two grandsons, Nickolas, age 8, and Maddox, age 2.
