Educator Membership
 

Educator members of the ACFE are eligible for discounts on ACFE events and products. To qualify for Educator Associate membership status you must be employed full-time as an educator by an institution of higher learning as your primary means of employment. Becoming an Educator member of the ACFE is a great opportunity for instructors to receive expert training on fraud examination and provides access to numerous resources to use in the classroom. The ACFE reserves the right to request proof of primary employment.

Benefits of Educator membership: You receive discounts on ACFE events, products, and anti-fraud videos. A sample syllabus, teaching aids, suggested textbooks, and copies of ACFE reference materials are available.

University professors and instructors are key providers of anti-fraud education. Meet the challenge to arm your students with anti-fraud knowledge and skills they need in an increasingly unethical business world. The ACFE is dedicated to the anti-fraud profession and will provide you with world-class educational tools and resources when you agree to implement a Fraud Examination course.

Complimentary Attendance at ACFE Events

Educator members may attend one ACFE event per calendar year at no cost. This is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited seating is available therefore an Educator may not attend an event two consecutive years in a row. If you register and later find you will be unable to attend, please notify a Member Services Representative so that another educator may take your seat.

Please note: The Annual Conference - Pre, Main, and Post sessions are the equivalent of one event. The full conference is counted as one event or each session is counted as one event.

Up to two Educator members, from the same school may attend the same event, simultaneously. Any other attendees from the same school would have to pay the educator rate for the event.

The ACFE reserves a limited number of complimentary seats at our Principles of Fraud Examination seminars for professors who have committed to implement a three credit-hour course titled Fraud Examination. This 3 ½-day course provides a thorough grounding in the four basic areas of fraud examination: Fraud Prevention, Legal Elements of Fraud, Fraudulent Financial Transactions, and Investigation Techniques. It’s the perfect preparation for teaching your own Fraud Examination course. Plus you’ll learn practical examples from the numerous anti-fraud professionals attending. You’ll have the confidence to teach a Fraud Examination course as well as the tools to do it.

Discounted or Free CFE Exam Prep Course

Active ACFE Anti-Fraud Education Partners and Educator Associate members are eligible to receive a 50% discount on the CFE Exam Prep Course. Educator Associate members who have two or more years of fraud related experience (outside of teaching) are eligible to receive the CFE Exam Prep Course at no charge.

Educators Online Discussion Forum

Get in touch with your peers and colleagues locally and globally through the Educators Online Discussion Forum. It gives you the opportunity to get valuable answers to your questions and share your knowledge and resources with other educators.

Educator Requirements to Become a CFE

Enhance your anti-fraud knowledge, skills, and effectiveness as an educator by earning the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential. If you are currently employed full-time by an accredited college or university, you may meet the requirement of two years fraud-related professional experience. You must have taught four 3-hour courses (or the equivalent of 12 semester hours) of instruction on fraud-related topics (e.g. fraud examination, forensic accounting, auditing or criminal justice) for a two-year period.

Alternatively, Educators may meet the professional experience requirement by submitting original scholarly works that have been published in a peer-reviewed scientific or academic journal. All submissions will be subject to review by the ACFE certification committee, which will have the sole discretion to accept or reject such works as meeting the professional experience requirement for certification.
